Eligible local government agencies are being urged to finalise their applications for Round Five of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF).
The Commonwealth is making $200 million available for Round Five.
Of this, $100 million is being directed to a Community Investments Stream, with the remaining $100 million going to an Infrastructure Projects Stream focused on funding tourism-related infrastructure projects.
The Community Investments Stream will fund new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.
Infrastructure projects are not eligible under the Community Investments Stream.
Grants of $5000 to $1 million are available to cover 50 percent or more of eligible project costs.
Grant applications are due by no later than 5 March, with successful applicants expected to be announced in mid-2021.
