Councils’ role in welcoming migrants and refugees in spotlight

The role of local councils in migrant settlement and community cohesion will be examined in a Zoom conference meeting in August.

Melbourne’s Eastern Region Communities’ Council on Ethnic Issues (CCOEI) is convening the Migrant Settlement Committee (MSC) Zoom meeting on Friday 6 August.

The keynote speaker will be the chief executive of Welcoming Cities, Aleem Ali, along with Deborah Wu from the Victorian Local Governance Association.

Individuals or local governments who are not regular MSC participants but would like to join this meeting should email the MSC Convenor at chair.msc@gmail.com with “Migrant Settlement Committee” in the title.

Meeting papers and a Zoom link will be sent to participants closer to the time.
