Councils have been invited to support White Balloon Day on 7 September 2018 as part of National Child Protection Week during 2-7 September.
White Balloon Day is one of Australia’s largest leading national child protection campaigns; it was recommended in Outcome 6 in the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020 and endorsed by the Council of Australian Governments.
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse called on all levels of government nationally to help protect children in their communities by taking an active role in promoting child safe messages. Councils can begin by registering for White Balloon Day to receive access to free awareness campaign resources featuring child safe messages that can be placed in all venues, grounds and facilities.

- Photographs
- ‘Parent Tip Sheet’
- Print ready posters
