The 2022 Local Government Workforce Skills and Capability Survey report was funded by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts, and delivered in conjunction with ALGA and its member associations.
The survey was sent to all Australian councils and updates a previous local government workplace survey undertaken in 2018.
These survey results show nine out of every ten Australian councils are facing jobs and skills shortages, highlighting the need for increased investment in our local government workforce.
