The federal Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications has published design options for Round 5A of the Mobile Black Spot Program.
A new program design was considered necessary because under the existing guidelines fewer sites are likely to be successfully funded in the future.
The draft Guidelines for Round 5A outline the eligibility criteria for applicants and activities, the proposed assessment criteria, and the process for prospective applications – and are based on what the department says was “a large volume of submissions” received after a discussion paper canvassing different program designs was published on 21 April.
The department is now accepting feedback to inform the final funding guidelines.
The deadline for submissions is COB 4 November.
