Easy energy price matches now possible in NSW, Qld, SA, Tas

The Australian Energy Regulator’s price comparison service has been improved to enable households and small businesses to make more informed energy choices.

Energy Made Easy is a free and independent service enabling NSW, Queensland, South Australian, Tasmanian and ACT residents to find and compare electricity and gas plans available in their local area.

The Regulator is also encouraging local governments in relevant jurisdictions to refer residents and small businesses to the website to help ensure they’re on the best plan for their needs, or enable them to find a cheaper or more suitable plan.

Energy retailers are required by law to publish their generally available plans on the website, so users can be confident they’re seeing all the plans for their suburb, from all providers, when they search for an energy plan.

The features on the redeveloped website include:

  • two more pathways when searching for an energy plan for more personalised results – users can now also search using their meter data or by uploading their PDF bills;
  • retailer solar feed-in credits are now included in estimated plan costs; and
  • a dynamic translation function so users can translate the entire website into 33 different languages.

The website also has blogs, FAQs, and information about energy plans, bills and consumer rights, as well as tips on reducing energy bills or what to do when facing financial difficulties.
