The National Transport Commission completed 13 projects in 2019, including preparing advice for a national approach to regulating automated vehicles.
In its Annual Report 2019-20 published this week, the NTC also listed its “comprehensive engagement program” for the Heavy Vehicle Law review as another achievement across its four program areas.
The commission said it facilitated 200 formal submissions into the HVNL review and posted more than 350 informal comments on its website. This supplemented several nationwide workshops, bringing together government, industry, and the community to shape the next phase of the review.
The NTC is accountable to the Transport and Infrastructure Council (which includes Commonwealth, state and territory ministers responsible for transport and infrastructure, and the President of the Australian Local Government Association).
The NTC website has more information on the outcomes of each of the 13 projects.
