Round 2 guidelines for the Regional Connectivity Program have been released, with local councils and regional communities encouraged to apply for funding.
Funding of $112 million has been allocated for Round 2 of the RCP, bringing to $229 million the total amount invested in the delivery of “place-based” telecommunications infrastructure projects to improve digital connectivity across regional, rural and remote Australia”.
Round 2 also includes dedicated funding for the Connecting Northern Australia initiative to support projects which respond to the specific connectivity needs of rural and remote communities in the north.
An online project noticeboard has been established to enable interested parties to learn if there are potential telecommunications projects that could be developed into a project application for Round 2.
Interested parties have until 27 January 2022 to submit applications to the competitive assessment process of the program.
