Tax Office issues RAM reminder to LG finance officers

The Australian Taxation Office is reminding local government finance managers to renew their manual authorisation in RAM before their 12-month expiry date.

Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) is an authorisation service that allows you to act on behalf of a business online when linked with myGovID.

To renew, the ATO says to log in to RAM and follow the prompts.

Failure to renew your authorisation means you will be unable to access government online services on behalf of your organisation and you will need to link again.

The ATO is also reminding council finance managers that its new online services for business have begun operating.

Online services for business is intended as a secure and modern channel that allows users to manage all their tax and superannuation obligations and that can be accessed on multiple devices at any time.

The new system is in public beta testing, meaning council finance officers can provide feedback to help the ATO improve the service.

Simply complete the “Give us your feedback” form located at the bottom of every page.

To enable entities to transition from the Business Portal and eSAT to Online services for business, the ATO will continue to make the former available until later this year.
