Why LGs need to think about nature-based planning solutions

ICLEI Oceania is inviting local government councillors and city practitioners to a webinar exploring the use of nature-based solutions in urban planning.

Nature-based solutions (NBS) are broadly defined urban planning interventions based on nature and ecological functions to address societal challenges, such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, population health, food security, and natural disasters.

Speakers at the webinar include:

  • Cr Amanda Stone, City of Yarra;
  • Martin Hartigan, Program Manager Living Melbourne;
  • Kobi Brand, Regional Director ICLEI Africa and Cities Biodiversity Centre; and
  • Professor Niki Frantzeskaki, Centre for Urban Transitions, Swinburne University of Technology.

This free webinar will be held Wednesday 14 July at 16.00 AEST. Go to this link to register.
