Call for abstracts: Australian Disaster Resilience Conference
The Australian Disaster Resilience Conference (ADRC) is a unique opportunity to be immersed in leading disaster resilience thinking. Representatives from government, business, community, academia, emergency services and NGOs will meet in Perth on 6-7 September 2018, to share thinking and practice in meeting the challenges of future disasters.
The Call for Abstracts is now open under the theme 'The rise of resilience: from the individual to the global – enhancing community recovery by supporting community resilience". Delegates are advised to submit abstracts that explore the importance of individual and community effort at the grassroots level of disaster resilience, through to the enabling conditions of governance, investment and strong public policy that are required to support and foster disaster resilience, and effective recovery for those affected by disaster.
