Water infrastructure funding available for drought-affected states and territories

State and territory governments and their project partners have been invited to apply for a share of $72 million in water infrastructure funding for drought-affected regions, following the Australian Government’s release this week of Expressions of Interest (EOI) guidelines for the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund’s special drought round.

The drought round was first announced in August 2018 under the capital component of the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund as a part of the Government’s $1.8 billion drought package.

The Drought Round will provide funding to assist state and territory governments fast-track the construction of permanent water infrastructure projects to increase water supply and security for primary producers, businesses and communities in drought affected rural and regional areas.

Applications will close at 3pm AEDT on 11 December 2018.

Information, guidelines and related forms for the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund are available on the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities website.
