Cities focus at UN and Australia Sustainable Partnerships Forum

Sustainable cities and communities will be a major focus of the UN and Australia Sustainable Partnerships Forum to be held virtually on 20-21 April.

On day 1 of the Forum, sector leaders will discuss the way that the global pandemic has shone a new spotlight on the way cities and communities operate and challenged fundamental assumptions about future planning.

This interactive panel discussion will also look at the way that measures such as lockdowns and 5km limits on movement have changed what people in urban, peri-urban, and regional locations want and need from where they live and work.

This session will bring together climate, water and local government experts and practitioners to discuss how best to form inclusive and effective partnerships across sectors to ensure future cities are resilient, responsive, and sustainable.

On day two, there will be a discussion on cities and about how stakeholder partnerships can effectively lead the implementation of the sustainable development goals at the local level.
