Consultations start on new roadmap to climate resilience

Public consultation for the National Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategy has begun, with feedback possible up until COB Monday 6 September.

The strategy is intended to provide a “clear and practical pathway for a resilient Australia” by:

  • showcasing national adaptation and resilience efforts; and
  • strengthening national coordination to manage physical climate impacts such as floods, bushfires, droughts, sea level rise and marine heatwaves.

The federal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) is encouraging local government to visit its Have Your Say page to take part in the survey.

Further information can be found on DAWE’s National Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategy webpage.

The new strategy is expected to be released late in 2021.
